Different hair style?

My hair colour is between blonde and brown, maybe you could call it mousy blonde. I'm growing out my fringe, and it's like halfway down my face, from a side parting. My hair is fairly long about halfway down my back. It's layered, but the top layer always sticks out, and to straighten it everyday is just a little too much. It's feathered and shaped, but the shaping starts a little too far down at the moment. I'd like a change, still keeping it a fairly long, and i'm not allowed to dye it or anything. Ooh yeah, my face is oval if that makes any different. Any ideas?Different hair style?
You're lucky you have an oval face this is the kind of face shape that suits just about any hairstyle. Both long and short hair cuts look great on you, as your face shape is well balanced. The chin and forehead of an oval face shape are in even proportion.

Avoid covering up your perfect face shape with heavy bangs or wearing your hair on your face. You'll lose your face shape and it may add weight to your face.

Any of these hairstyles would be cute and be a little different without a drastic change. Hope this helped.

you want change, but still some length.... hmmm.... try cutting 1/3 off still keeping it layered. Maybe add some bangs? Bangs are great ideas for a instant change. Anyway, bangs can make your face seem less oval, if thats a problem.
BANGS ARE BACK SO MAYB GET BANGS AND CUT A FEW INCHES OFF AND ADD A LAYER OR 2. OR IF U WANT LESS LAYERS, CUT IT 2 THE LAYER CLOSEST 2 WHERE U WANT UR HAIR.
If you want to, it's best to bring a picture into the salon to show exactly what you want!

Try some of these:

if you like them, print one out and bring it in. Good luck! :D

It all comes down to the actual style - the layering, the highlights or lowlights, and the overall length in conjunction with face shape.

Oval-shaped faces look good with any hair cut because they're so symmetrical.

Heart-shaped faces look great with chin-length bobs because they add the illusion of extra width at the chin. Keep a few shorter layers around the face.

Square-shaped faces go best with cuts that are chin-length or longer that can soften a strong jaw. Fluff the sides out instead of keeping them close to the face for a more oval appearance.

Round faces can wear chin-length or longer styles as well. The difference between the round and angular face shapes is round faces want the hair kept close to the face. This gives the illusion of a slimmer face.

Girls with straight hair can go just about any length while girls with curly hair will do better with layered shoulder-length cuts to keep ringlets from going haywire.
